Face of God at the Triofest of bar Loose

On Wednesday night bar Loose in Helsinki presented the Triofest. Three bands which all are rock trios. Face of God got the honor to be the leading act of that night. Together with Face of God in the festival were The Dead Stones and The Hollow. Both other bands presented a totally different style. I personally had wish that they had chosen better rock trio´s with Face of God together for the night. When it comes to rock trio the first name that comes up might be The Blanko and then Face of God, just as a recommendation for Bar Loose if they stage a Triofest again :) Otherwise Face of God did very well that night, a lot of people came to bar Loose to check them out. Friends, fans and music lovers supported them. The guys opened up with a fast and strong song "Animal" and they got immediately the attention of the the audience. The crowd jumped and danced with Face of God. As they performed "Bad" people from the crowd jumped on stage to perform the famous Intro of "Bad" together with bass player Benjamin. As best band of the night, sure Face of God got a we want more and they showed after 45 min of great songs again up on stage to present some more. A lot of new material could be listen to that night. We are all waiting for the album!!!!

Face of God in London: Death2Disco, Notting Hill Arts Club

Yesterday Face of God was playing show number 2 in UK and again the house was packed, as already in Brighton before. This night the Notting Hill Arts Club was freaking out in the Death2Disco event as the rock trio from Finland entered the stage. People gone insane and crazy about the guys - an audience that definitely loved Face of God. Frontman Leo Stillman who promoted drummer Perttu´s cock on stage found immediately audience engagement with his jokes. Face of God were bringing the event Death2Disco to life. With Bad, Hurricane, Elephant and Paranormal Whorebomb the trio collect strong songs to perform live on stage! The closing with Paranormal Whorebomb and a sitting La ola of the crowd that reminded of the German band "Die Ärzte", was amazing. Not just the big festivals can consist of that, Face of God makes it possible to bring the "sitting La ola" back to the small venues.
Well done guys!!! Words are almost missing to describe this brilliant show in Notting Hill!

Leo Stillmann, FACE OF GOD Interview

Picture Tina K. photography

It was very quite about Face of God for a few months. The trio locked themselves up in the studio to produce their first album. Now finally out from the studio, Leo Stillman has a bit of time to answer a few questions:

1) Was it an honor for Face of God to produce the album in the same studio than HIM: Finnvox?
Leo: Of course. And not only because of HIM, it´s a legendary studio and all the people who work there are really nice and lovely. Great studio.

2) With who you produced the album?
Leo: Aki Sihvonen. He did the recording, mixing and producing. Genius and a sweetheart.

3) How was the studio time? Is there any good studio story that is worth to tell to your fans?
Leo: We used to get drunk and wasted in the studio, but this time we didn´t. We took this really seriously and wanted to give 110 %. But lot of funny things happened. For example we couldn´t get one song going well, so i came up with an idea to record it naked. It worked out well. I must say that we really worked together, I´m really proud of us, including Aki and Neimo (played the percussion on the album)

4) The new album, still such a secret. Do you want to open up a bit more and tell us how satisfied you are with the production of your first debut?
Leo: Well the album is not a secret, the name is, and only because we don´t want to rush. The album sounds amazing and Aki really gave a lot for the album, he gave his magic touch that we needed. He trusted us a lot and we trusted him.

5) Face of God has so many good songs, how you collect the songs that are on the album now? Was it a hard decision that had been made?
Leo: We were writing an album and we knew what kind of songs we wanted. I was thinking about the lyrics and melodies a lot and I wanted to write songs I can stand behind. There are really different kind of songs on the album.

6) When do you plan to publish the album?
Leo: It depends which label we choose to work with. Hopefully soon, but again we´re not in a hurry.

7) I think the songs on the Face of God album are going to be brilliant, but do you have a favourite one and if yes do you want to open up which song?
Leo: The whole album is like a one love song. I have a new favourite every day.

8) The band has a new drummer Perttu Kurttila. What happened to Oscar? Why the drummer switch before the album production? What you think about the new drummer, was the switch necessary?
Leo: I think Oscar didn´t feel comfortable anymore. It´s a lot of work and he wanted to concentrate on different things. I think Perttu was the best thing that could happen. He really gave 110% and he gave something really fresh for the album.

9) This Saturday the UK tour is starting. Are you excited and ready for it? You will perform on the tour opening together with Apulanta in Brighton? How it came to that cooperation?
Leo: UK is the place to be. We´re gonna be in the UK for two weeks and have a lot of things to do there. Our manager booked the show, so I have no idea what happened wit the Apulanta gig...

10) A lot of shows will be in London, why you see the UK as the first market to enter to? Is the music scene in there more special? Or do you personally enjoy it there so much?
Leo: We love rain, bacon and beans, so what would be a better place?

11) The Face of God street teams worldwide are doing a great job. How thankful are you for that support and what are your wishes for the future?
Leo: I´m more than thankful, we need all the support now and I´m really glad that we have so dedicated fans from all around the world!

Face of God at Bar Loose

On Friday night 07.06.2013 Face of God was performing in Bar Loose. It was the last club concert in Helsinki before the guys are starting to record the album next month. They proved again their reputation as a distinctive live act and set up a energetic rock show that impressed the audience. With lot of talent and potential Face of God is going their way. The gig got opened with a new song that blows you away. It seems like there will come an album along that will be genius. The rock trio Face of God is going from getting better to being amazing. The audience enjoyed the show that night a lot. "Elephant" and "Paranormal Whorebomb" made the people sing together with Face of God, those lyrics are known by now. Frontman Leo Stillman was jumping into the audience and rocked out with them together, not a bit of shyness could be found in that show. Benjamin presented an amazing bass solo and Helsinki´s best drummer Oscar showed up with his drum solo. Also the song "Alone in love = Stars are falling down" got performed the first time on stage, before Face of God played it just in acoustic. It made the song come alive even more, more energetic and dynamic with drumset, bass and e - guitar. Amazing how Face of God nowadays jumps around the stage and engaged the audience to sing, clap hands and make funny noises in repeating what frontman Lende is saying.
Face of God, Face of God, Face of God ....  Definitely everybody that saw Face of God for the first time that night will remember the bands name!!! They made it clear. "Black in the night" was guiding the people into the night as ending song. Wooow, what a show. I am still amazed!
Thank you Face of God, we love you <3

Yesterday was a very sunny day in Helsinki in the evening people came together on the terrace of Bar Bäkkäri, Helsinki´s famous rock bar. It was an unplug sunday, Leo Stillman from Face of God was performing in acoustic set. Chilling out and enjoying drinks on the terrace, people waited for the start of the live music event. And around 9 pm the stage was open for the front man from Face of God. He played 3 h with some small cigarett breaks between. A lot of new songs got introduced to the audience as well the old fashion once from the "One World" tour last year May made the audience sing with him together. Although some cords were missing in his mind, he played very well that night and got the record for the longest acoustic set that ever got stage in Bar Bäkkäri.
