BORN TO LOSE

The brand new "Born To Lose" video from Face of God came out in the night from Sunday to Monday. Till now the video has almost 1200 likes on youtube. Monday 15.04.2013 Face of God staged a powerful show in the Hard Rock Café Helsinki. Hard Rock Finals were calling. The guys had fun to play and the fans were very supportive. In the end 3 points to the first place were missing, but well yeah... "We are Born To Lose". Even that singer Leo Stillman let his pants down to impress the female judges didn´t helped that much. After performing the show without shirt, the judges ask for more and suggest that the next band (Santa Cruz) might play without shirt and without pants, so Lende took it by word. Didn´t worked out that well, but we should concentrate on music and not how much naked people are on stage ;) Wednesday morning 17.05.2013 very early the airplane to London left. In the evening the rock trio stage a show in the famous Notthing Hill Arts Club, one very impressive underground location in London near the Notting Hill Gate. The house was packed with people and fans from Finland and Norway came to see FOG playing. Thank you FOGers for that support. Although the guys felt weird to not play with all of their own sound equipment, the show went pretty well. One London celebrity was the DJ of the night, I assume you all might heard already about it: drummer Dave Rowntree from The Blur was in the house.
Friday 18.04.2013 an other London show is coming up in Bar Solo. So be there!

"I don´t really care where we play if it is Finland´s butt or London" (Leo Stillman)

The last two Face of God shows were outside of Helsinki. The rock trio played in Vaasa and Lahti. Also if it wasn´t Turku it was still somehow a part of "Finlands butt". The guys are doing great. On Monday the Final of Hard Rock Rising is calling. Face of God will battle against Strong Addiction and Santa Cruz. On Wednesday morning it goes to London. The energetic trio can present their dynamic live show finally abroad for the first time. New songs are created and hopefully performed soon on stage. Face of God get´s better and better in the creativity of song writing and sound. You all will be surprised what is coming next :) Free Willy (whales on the sand) was just the start, let´s wait and see what Face of God is producing in the future.

Hard Rock Rising Competition

The Hard Rock Rising Competition is an event that is organised world wide by Hard Rock Café. Super great underground rock bands are battling against each other in every Hard Rock Café. The winner from the finals from each city are competing later on international. Yesterday night Helsinki, Finland had the second Heat of bands. Amazing judges were following the show: Andy McCoy (Hanoi Rocks/Grease Helmet), Pasi (The 69 Eyes), Tuukka Hämäläinen (Rytmi Magazine) and Niko (Amorphis). Hosted was the event by Nathan (Sonic Syndicate).

That night it was Face of God´s turn to show where they belong. An amazing audience engagement and the perfect rock´n´roll mood were presented in a full house. Face of God got supported by lot of fans that night. And for that a big thank you too all of you. The sound and the dynamic live show impressed the judges a lot. Andy McCoy comment later on: "In that band i see the future, the others are going under".

Face of God had strong competitors with Raaka-Aine and Freddi Waselius, but they definitely staged the best show of that night. Also just positive comments from the judges came up, Pasi 69 eyes was impressed of the young and talented bass player Benjamin and complimented him. Andy McCoy loved the frontman Leo Stillmann. And also Oscar did a great job with playing drums. Face of God they are just a trio but they are cooperating so perfectly with each other on stage that they sound like there are still 2 people more with them. The audience was impressed of the show, the fans enjoyed dancing and singing their favourite lyrics and a big applaus went to the judges for their positive comments. A very great night and the announcement later on that Face of God not just won the competition, but that they scored also very high against the other bands was the best compliment of the whole night.

There was a reason to celebrate. 

Face of God @ Bar Bäkkäri VepsäFest Vol. 1

Saturday night Face of God played @ VepsäFest. They played after three other bands in the famous Bäkkäri’s Green Room. The alternative rock trio from Helsinki heated the stage with their dynamic attitude.

After the first song, “Alive Dead Monkey”, the crowd started to feel the vibe, but with the famous song Elephant (included in 3 Simoa OST) they hit the heart of the audience.
From that moment the concert was a party that continued with some other Face of God hits like the latest single “Born To Lose” or the also well known “Paranormal Whorebomb”.

After a couple of songs frontman Leo Stillman thanked the audience and the end of the concert was coming, only one more track “Black in the Night” rocked the end of the show. After almost one hour dynamic live performance the band left the stage and we wanted to enjoy more.

Face of God @ Paksu

Yesterday night in the snowstorm of Helsinki the restaurant, bar and nightclub Paksu was open and the cosy atmosphere were welcoming the guests. Face of God was performing that night. From the cold into the warm also if front man Leo Stillman needed to get use to the Finnish climate again after 2 weeks of Caribbean. Normally showing up without shirt on stage he was even wearing his leader jacket on top of his normal shirt. Yes it was freezing but it heated up quite fast. Bassist Benjamin was the first who got rid of his shirt and after a couple of great Face of God songs also Leo took of the jacket. The girls in the room were clapping their hands, just drummer Oscu was missing. He didn´t impressed with taking his shirt of but he gave a brilliant drum solo to it´s best. The show that night was great the fans enjoyed it and family and friends of Face of God supported them as well. "Whales on the sand" was an amazing closing song and the trio rocked it out and we all enjoyed to watch the show! Thank you Face of God!

Ankkuriklubi @ Nosturin alakerta

Face of God rocked the house in the downstairs of Nosturi. Yesterday night the famous Ankkuriklubi was organized by Iiro Ylönen. He has chosen the bands for the event well. A very great music night with Supertzar, Teppo Vapaus & Intohimon Orjat and Face of God. It was crazy even people from Norway flyed over to Finland to see the show from Face of God. As already the night before Face of God continued the set list with the two new songs: "Alive dead monkey" and "Whales on the sand". The new songs are really great and sounded awesome performed live on stage. Face of God attracted an international audience. Since the Helldone festival 2012 they are more and more known on an international basis. So people from Spain, Germany and New Zealand could be found in the audience. In this night everything worked well and the gig was brilliant. The people enjoyed the show, dancing, singing and rocking out with Face of God. All three bands of the Ankkuriklubi night presented their talents on stage. Supertzar played powerful rock music with great vocals from Willie Nelson Mandela. Teppo presented his own style of music which people just love or hate. Most of them yesterday night loved it and cheered up to lyrics like "Helsinki on perse". Face of God ended the show with “Black in the night” and yep, they were fooling around and made quite a mess on the stage. Welcome to the real rock´n´roll.

The music night continued backstage. They are so great musicians that they cannot stop playing. Benjamin Lehti on the bass and Leo Stillman on the drums continued over hours into the morning. 

Maybe Face of God should think about a world record: How long is it possible to play without any break?

A very weird show, but awesome !

Yesterday night 25.01.2012 Face of God was performing together with Bar Bees, Riot Vein and Fuse at the Sikafest in Bar Bäkkäri/Green Room. Face of God was the main act of this night. The guys showed up with a great stage presents and two new songs in the set list. They open with the new song " Alive dead money" which surprised the audience and speeded up the start of the show.A few weird things happened that night a drunken woman joined the rock trio on the stage but got carry out from the securities after a while. Face of God handled the situation with self-confidence and it didn´t destroy their good mood. The audience was amazed and Leo Stillman made them play his echo. Oscu performed an awesome drum solo and showed that he is one of Helsinki´s best drummers. Between the song “Paranormal Whorebomb” the microphone fall down and Benjamin and Oscar needed to speed up till Lende found his mike again, he confused all the people as he started rapping spontaneously into the mike and took it with lot of humor. The audience liked his spontaneously rap performance a lot and supported it. Also if it wasn´t the typical Face of God genre, but it was fun and heated up the great mood. After all this weird happenings the rock trio showed up with a brilliant performance and "Chase yesterday" went under the skin. Almost at the end of the show Face of God performed the second new song "Whales on the sand" which has a lot of power and thanks to Lende we all know now that a whale is a big fish (iso kala). This night was one of the weirdest shows Face of God ever performed, but it was fun and it is nice to see that sometimes things shouldn´t be taken too serious. "Black in the Night" ended the show and Leo jumped into the audience to rock on which succeed for a "we want more" and the guys showed up on stage again to perform "Fire" which was a wish of their younger fans in the audience.What a night, let´s see what will happen today in Nosturi!!!
